Who benefits from our activities?

Portage House, Beaconsfield

Many thanks to Alan Farkas, Administrator of Portage House in Beaconsfield, and Kyle Wall, a 16 year old graduate about to leave Portage, for their tremendous presentation at our November 16th luncheon. In a marvelous surprise, Kyle was the main presentor chronicling his battle with drugs at a young age and how the support he received at Portage helped him turn his life around. Kyle was eloquent, self assured and amazed everyone with his honest and amazing story. As a founding member of Portage, our own Ray Felson can take particular satisfaction for his efforts and we can all share pride in the fact that Kiwanis played an integral role in its foundation and continues to provide some funds along the way.

Montreal Children's Hospital

Recently Elaina Della Porta and Peter Nauth donated another batch of Kiwanis Buddy Dolls to the Child Life Center at the Montreal Children's Hospital. Accepting the Dolls were Marie France Heneault (Director, Child Life Center) and Suzanne Korf (Montreal Childrens Hospital Foundation). Our Club has been supplying these Dolls for several years helping hundreds of kids deal with their illnesses while in the hospital.
