Veronica DesaulnierS, Director of Maison Wiloh

An inclusive and adapted home

Maison WILOH, was formed by a group of parents in 2022 whose mission is to create a safe and long-term housing solution for their adult children with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

Since then, Maison WILOH has gained recognition for this need in the community and continues raising awareness for the importance of this mission.

This non-profit is a model for permanent housing of 30+ residents in the West Island, where caregivers coordinate with families and social services, ensuring a respectful, stable, enriching, safe and permanent living environment.  In addition, offering respite service, space to implement programs in support of the community and to possibly house small commercial ventures to help finance Maison WILOH's long term operations.

Veronica DesaulnierS, Director of Maison Wiloh

After more than three decades in the airline industry, Veronica Desaulniers has built a life defined by connection, care, and culture. A trilingual professional with over 33 years in customer experience and global travel, she has mastered the art of communication across diverse communities — turning every interaction into an opportunity to inspire trust, inclusion, and understanding.

The daughter of immigrants and a first-generation Canadian herself, Veronica’s worldview was shaped by resilience and compassion from a young age. She helped her mother learn English, witnessed her parents’ determination to build a new life, and carried those same values into her own journey — from aviation to advocacy.

As the mother of three children, including a son with special needs, Veronica has also learned the quiet strength that comes from navigating life’s challenges with grace. Her son has been her greatest teacher — reminding her daily of the beauty in perseverance, patience, and unconditional love. That lived experience continues to shape her voice as a communicator, advocate, and bridge-builder — someone who believes that empathy is not only a value but a way of life.

A recent graduate of McGill University’s Public Relations and Communications Management program, Veronica continues to champion meaningful human connection through her volunteer work with Maison WILOH. She believes deeply in the power of storytelling, photography, and shared experience to foster empathy and social change.
